What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin shells placed on the front surface of teeth in the smile zone. They can effectively change your tooth color, mask aesthetic defects (chips, cracks), and correct shape and size.
The shade and shape of veneers are selected individually, based on your preferences, facial anatomy, and natural tooth color. You can achieve a very natural-looking smile, or aim for a brighter and more vibrant smile — depending on your goals.
Before treatment, we perform a live try-in (mock-up). You can see a mock-up of your future smile in advance, evaluate the shape and color, and request changes if needed.

Why Veneers?
Benefits of Veneers
Veneers enhance the color, shape, and proportions of your teeth, creating a balanced and natural appearance. The shade is carefully customized—either to match your natural teeth or slightly brighten your smile without looking artificial.
For worn teeth, chips, or microcracks, veneers are often a more reliable and long-term solution than composite restorations.
Ceramic veneers retain their shade over time and are more resistant to staining than natural enamel after whitening.
Long-lasting results With precise fabrication, proper placement, and good care, veneers maintain both their appearance and function for many years.
Veneers can visually improve alignment but cannot correct bite issues. For bite issues, orthodontic treatment may be required. Veneers also have a limited lifespan and may need replacement over time (similar to crowns).
Doctor’s Advice
Orthodontist with over 22 years of experience
Placing veneers with an incorrect bite can lead to complications. Before treatment, it is essential to perform functional diagnostics: evaluate the bite, TMJ condition, and chewing muscles. If there are bite or TMJ issues, they should be addressed prior to veneer placement.

Teeth Alignment & Bite Correction with Aligners
We recommend beginning with teeth alignment and bite correction using aligners or braces. When necessary, TMJ therapy is also incorporated. This comprehensive approach allows veneers to be placed with minimal tooth preparation—often limited to subtle edge refinement—while significantly reducing the risk of chips, cracks, or fractures over time.
If full bite correction is not required, alignment can be limited to the front teeth (commonly referred to as the “Social Six”), typically completed within 3 to 6 months.
We also offer a combined treatment package: aligners and veneers with a 10% savings. This includes 10% off teeth alignment and bite correction with aligners, as well as 10% off the veneers themselves.
Function is the Foundation
Before designing your smile, we evaluate the entire dentofacial system: the position of the lower jaw, the condition of the chewing muscles, the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and lower facial height.
Our goal is to establish a stable, physiologically correct foundation. If underlying concerns are present—such as tooth wear, reduced bite height, muscle tension, or joint clicking—we begin with comprehensive functional diagnostics and, when necessary, a dedicated therapeutic phase.
Without this approach, even the most aesthetic veneers can lead to overload, chipping, or long-term discomfort.
Aesthetics After Function
Only after the system is stabilized do we move to aesthetics. Your smile is designed with careful attention to tooth shape and proportions, color and translucency, facial expression, lip position, and facial symmetry in motion.
We do not simply layer aesthetics—we build them on a functional foundation. This approach ensures a result that is not only beautiful, but stable and long-lasting, without pain, overload, or the need for re-treatment.
For patients seeking a calm, seamless experience, veneer placement can be performed under sedation. You are placed into a light, controlled sleep using short-acting medications while the doctor completes the procedure—waking up with your new smile already in place.
What Happens at the First Veneer Consultation
The first consultation takes about 1 hour and includes functional digital diagnostics to evaluate the entire dentofacial system: bite, TMJ, and chewing muscles.
Using a CBCT system with a large field of view (there are only two such machines in the UAE — one in our clinic and one at the University of Sharjah), the orthodontist evaluates the bite, tooth position, root condition, and TMJ function. This helps avoid masking underlying functional issues with veneers.
We perform digital scanning to create a 3D model of your smile. This is used for precise veneer planning, accurate fit, and minimal tooth preparation.
Stages of Veneer Placement
The number of visits depends on the clinical case — whether bite correction, TMJ therapy, or other dental treatments are needed beforehand.
CBCT, axiography, and intraoral 3D scanning. The patient receives a complete assessment of the dentofacial system. The doctor explains identified issues and whether preliminary treatment is required.
All data is uploaded into specialized software where the future smile is visualized. The patient sees the expected result, treatment timeline, and cost, and then decides whether to proceed.
Temporary veneers are placed without tooth preparation. The patient can see and feel how the final result will look and function.
Under a dental microscope, the doctor performs minimal tooth preparation. A digital impression is taken and sent to the lab for veneer fabrication.
Veneers are first placed using a try-in paste. If adjustments are needed, they are made. Once approved, the veneers are permanently bonded under a dental microscope with precise marginal fit control.

Testimonials
Veneers According to International Standards
Proper veneer placement does not begin with tooth preparation, but with comprehensive functional diagnostics. It is essential to evaluate the bite, temporomandibular joint (TMJ), chewing muscles, and tooth position.
This approach allows us not simply to mask underlying issues with veneers, but to create a smile that is both healthy and aesthetically refined.
The modern international approach to veneers is based on minimal tooth preparation. The more natural enamel is preserved, the stronger the veneer bonding and the better the long-term result.
If teeth are uneven, they are often aggressively prepared for veneers — in our approach, we first align the teeth and then place veneers with minimal preparation. We also perform preparation under a dental microscope, which helps preserve as much enamel as possible.
High-quality veneers should not look like “artificial teeth.”
With a translucent incisal edge, natural microtexture, and precise marginal fit, veneers look like natural teeth, blend harmoniously with the smile, and do not irritate the gums.
Indications and Contraindications
-
Discoloration of enamel
-
Worn front teeth
-
Chips and cracks
-
Large fillings in the smile zone
Before placing veneers, the condition of teeth and gums must be evaluated. Preliminary treatment may be required if the patient has:
-
Caries
-
Gum inflammation
-
Significant tooth damage
-
Bite disorders
-
Bruxism
Care and Maintenance
After veneer placement, oral care should be just as thorough as with natural teeth: brushing twice a day with a soft toothbrush, careful cleaning along the gumline, and daily interdental cleaning with floss or brushes. Professional cleaning is recommended every 4–6 months.
In everyday life, it is important to avoid excessive stress on veneers. Do not bite into ice, nuts in shells, or seeds, avoid using your teeth to open packages, and refrain from biting hard foods with your front teeth.
FAQ
Aligners or Veneers — Which to Choose?
Patients often try to choose between these two treatments, but they serve different purposes.
Aligners are used to straighten teeth and correct the bite.
Veneers are used to change the color, shape, and size of teeth.
For patients with uneven teeth who also want to improve shape and color, the ideal solution is orthodontic treatment with aligners before veneers.
